Next-day return differs by shop: check the cut-off first

If you treat "next-day return" as one rule shared by every shop, it will fall apart the next morning. The comparison page lists each shop's own cut-off times and surcharges separately. This note uses two shops that go in opposite directions to show how to read them.

If your stay is short, check three things first: the latest same-day return time, whether next-day return costs extra, and whether you can return to another branch or a hotel front desk. If any of the three is blank, do not fill it in on the shop's behalf.

How the two shops put it

Okamoto: same-day return to the original shop is free until 17:50. Returning by 17:00 the next day costs 1,100 yen, tax included, and needs ID and a 10,000 yen cash deposit. Returning to another shop, to Arashiyama or to a hotel desk uses different figures, listed on the Okamoto page; do not apply the 1,100 yen to those cases. Okamoto's set plan is listed at 2,980 yen before tax, and the tax-included estimate on the page is not an official tax-included price.

Riko sits at the other end: return to the original shop by 17:30; late returns cost 1,100 yen per 5 minutes; next-day return, another shop and hotel desks are all not accepted. The figures are on the Riko page.

What this means

Even for the same day-and-a-half trip, Okamoto and Riko cannot share one return schedule. Other shops differ too: some charge extra for next-day return, some only mention same-day late fees. If next-day return is not written, read it as "the page does not have this item," not as quiet permission.

What to check next

Go from the shop list to that shop's detail page and read only that shop's return line. If a shop changes its rules, the detail page is what counts; this note does not replace any shop's notice. Our own experience plan is still 2,980 yen tax included, without photography or hair, and the shop address remains unpublished.
